Food diaries written by nutritionists and trainers can be found all over the web. Often, they are written for bodybuilders or people with specific training goals. Take this one for example. On a perfect morning, we’d all love to sit down to a spinach and egg white omelete with freshly squeezed orange juice. Most of us don’t have time for that.
Have you ever wondered what people really eat to stay healthy and fit? We’re on the case. Every week, we’re asking people to tell us what they eat for 24 hours. We’ll publish a new food diary every Friday. This week, we’re featuring Ally Thiac, a woman on the go in Denver, CO.
Name: Ally Thiac
Occupation: Retail Marketing Manager at PlaceWise Media
Age: 33 years old
“I live in Colorado and work for Denver-based PlaceWise Media. I’ve worked there for over 4 years now. I share a town home in the Baker neighborhood in Denver with my boyfriend, John and his two extremely active German short haired pointers. I have also recently become an aunt and I love it! In my free time I love watching movies, decorating, pinterest and shopping. Because I am Italian and I was raised in New Orleans, my favorite foods are pasta and seafood. I could eat those two foods on a daily basis. My family and friends are very important to me and I love spending time with them as much as I can but, I also cherish my alone time (plus I need it). I use to be a yogi and got out of my routine. One of my goals for this month is the start my yoga classes again.”
Here’s a day in my (food) life:
7am: I wake up and go out to walk and feed the dogs. I take a shower, then fix breakfast. For breakfast, I have tea and wheat toast with margarine.
9am: I take a morning walk with Lloyd and Lindsay to Starbucks for a Grande Skinny Mocha. I consistently drink water throughout the morning.
12:30pm I have lunch from Jimmy John’s, where I get a turkey sandwich on white bread with a pickle, chips and diet coke. After lunch I take another walk with Lloyd and Lindsay.
3:00pm I have an afternoon snack, which is Smartfood white cheddar popcorn and water.
5:30pm I take the dogs out for a quick walk around the block, then I shovel snow from a recent storm.
7pm For dinner, I make mostacholi and red gravy/sauce with mild Italian sausage, and I drink water with dinner.
At night I do some laundry and watch a little TV, then at 10pm it’s off to bed!
As you can see, Ally drinks a lot of water in the dry Colorado climate. She also gets a lot of daily exercise and sunshine by going outside for multiple walks throughout the day. Thanks for sharing a day in your (food) life, Ally!
