Health Hack: Make a Low Carb Breakfast in 3 Minutes

Fluffy Scrambled Eggs

Here’s the deal: you have an important meeting in one hour and the kids are late for school. Before you even think about hitting the drive-thru, take a deep breath, compose yourself, and pick one of these easy low carb breakfasts that you can make in under 3 minutes:

Protein Shaker

Think breakfast smoothies always have to be a big production? Think again. With a little weekly prep, making a morning breakfast protein shaker has never been easier. You’ll need to blend up some frozen strawberries, raspberries, and/or blueberries with water on a weeknight and store in your refrigerator for easy access in the mornings.

In a drink shaker, combine:

  1. 2 cups almond milk
  2. 2 scoops protein powder
  3. 1/4 cup berry blend

Shake vigorously for 30 seconds.

Egg Scramble in a Mug

Prepare chopped vegetables early in the week. Store in a container and leave in your refrigerator for snacks, a stir fry, or this this genius breakfast hack: egg scramble in a mug.

Breakfast Burrito

Cook eggs in a mug as described in the link above. Lay out a low carb tortilla or just use a bowl, and sprinkle cheese, beans, and add a dollop of salsa to the eggs.

Fruit and Nut “Cereal”

Skip the grains but keep the bowl of spoon with this genius low carb cereal alternative. I’ve gotta credit DailyBurn’s own Melissa Carter for serving a gigantic bowl of this at a DailyBurn company meeting. It was so good that we just have to share.

In a bowl, add:

  1. 3/4 cup sliced or slivered almonds
  2. 1/4 cup berries
  3. Top with dairy milk or almond milk
  4.
