Summer is here, which means that the kids are out of school for a few months. When kids aren’t at school, it’s up to parents, day camps, and childcare providers to work together to keep kids healthy. A healthy summer vacation includes plenty of time outside, continued unstructured learning, and healthy snacks of course.
While parents are used to packing snacks and lunches for kids during the school year, summertime is different. During the summer, families are more likely to take road trips and vacations that shake up their normal pace of life. There is one constant though, the kids are always going to be hungry! Sometimes, it can be easier to grab convenient snacks for kids during the summer, especially if they are screaming for, well, ice cream.
Of course parents want to give their kids the best food that they can. Sometimes, it can be unrealistic for busy parents to prepare all snacks from scratch with fresh, organic ingredients.
